Details
Ellman's dihydropyran resin allows coupling primary and secondary as well as functionalized alcohols as acetal with high loading levels. The attachment functionality was stable to both strongly basic and nucleophilic reagents. Ellman’s resin has been used within the synthesis of ketones from esters and biphenyltetrazole derivatives. Release of the product alcohol from the support is carried out by treating with 95% TFA / 5% water, TFA / CH₂Cl₂ / EtOH or pyridinium p-toluenesulfonate / BuOH / 1,2-dichloroethane.
