ACTH (1–24) is a fragment of the ACTH hormone, which stimulates the adrenal cortex and the secretion of glucocorticoids such as cortisol. ACTH (1–24) can be used as radiolabeled analog of ACTH (1–24) to demonstrate the existence of specific binding sites. The peptide is equipotent as ACTH (1–24) in stimulating steroidogenesis.
