Details
Dab is a major constituent of the polymyxin peptide antibiotics. Educt for the synthesis of cyclic amidine ectoine, which is used in skin care products. Dab is as well the precursor of the natural ectoine found in high concentration in halobacteria.
In vitro, incubation with Dab irreversibly damages hepatoma cells.
