Details
The Glu-Lys isopeptide bond is formed as a crosslink in proteins in normal, not virus-transformed cells. Additionally, the acceleration of fibrin ε-(γ-glutamyl)lysine (GGEL) crosslinking by red blood cells has been observed. GGEL detected in the CSF is a biomarker of neurodegenerative diseases.
