Replacement of the Lys⁸-Lys⁹ peptide bond by the CH₂NH bond produced an analog with quite interesting pharmacological properties. The degradation-resistant peptide analog Lys-psi(CH2NH)Lys-Pro-Tyr-Ile-Leu (JMV-449) was the most active in the binding and biological assays. JMV-449 exhibited higher binding and biological potencies than neurotensin. JMV449 was also about 10 times more potent than neurotensin (8-13) in the bioassay, whereas both peptides were equipotent in the binding assay.
