Eptifibatide, a RGD mimetic, is a glycoprotein (GP) IIb/IIIa receptor antagonist. Clinically, the peptide is used as an antiplatelet drug in combination with heparin and aspirin in the management of unstable angina and in patients undergoing coronary angioplasty and stenting procedures.
