Urechistachykinins

These two tachykinin-related neuropeptides were isolated from the ventral nerve cords of the echiuroid worm, Urechis unicinctus. Their amino acid sequences have high homology with those of the vertebrate and insect tachykinins. They potentiate spontaneous rhythmic contractions of the cockroach hindgut.
