Family Description:
The hypothalamic releasing factors PrRP31 and PrRP20 which share no sequence similarity with known peptides and proteins, are neuropeptides from the brain that are synthesized as part of a larger precursor preprolactin. They have been found to promote the release of prolactin, the anterior pituitary hormone that is responsible for lactation.
