Oxyntomodulin potently inhibits gastric acid secretion and pancreatic enzyme secretion when infused iv. Moreover, it was shown that intracerebroventricularly and into the hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus injected oxyntomodulin inhibits food intake in fasted and nonfasted animals potently and in a sustained manner.
