Drug Carriers

These dipeptides may potentially serve as drug carriers to facilitate diffusion across the blood-brain barrier. Both peptides well permeate through gastro-intestinal lipid membranes, the acidic molecule permeating slower than the ester derivative. As their peptide bonds are stable, both dipeptides are suitable for oral administration.
