The ivDde group can be cleaved selectively with 2% hydrazine hydrate in DMF. It is more stable towards the repetitve piperidine treatment during Fmoc-SPPS than Dde. ivDde has been applied in de Visser's synthesis of the Dab-rich cyclopeptide antibiotic polymyxin B1 and analogs.
